4th of July Parade

Believe it or not, I have lived in Utah for over 22 years now and have not ever been to the Fourth of July parade, and neither has Jared. During weekend of the parade, which of course was also Brady and Luke's birthday, Jared and I figured this sad fact out and decided to change it. So off and early in the morning, we drove to Provo to start the day by watching the Hot Air Balloons take off.

So, ya think their real????

Got to see some old friends, Rachel B. Our old babysitter.

Darth Vader Balloon was the highlight of the balloon launch.

As you can tell by the clouds, it was not a great day to launch. In fact, they kept the balloons close to the ground. This was a miracle because within 10 minutes of the balloons being ready, a gust of wind came through and deflated every single one. Whoa, at least we got to see them up close and no one got hurt.

Then we marched over to watch the parade. With the cloud coverage, the temperature was still very nice. The wait for the parade took a while and the kids were getting restless.

This was about a week before Rachel's pageant, so we had fun watching for the royalty floats and then practicing our "wave".
Of course, we had to end this adventure with a trip to the BYU Creamery for some lunch and ice cream! Yummmmm....
