ATTN: we now have a TEENAGER in the house!

Aside from the usual New Years Eve fun, we also get to celebrate Ethan's birthday. He was born at 1:23 pm on Dec 31st. Let's just say I wasn't doing any partying that New Years Eve night - I just wanted to sleep...

Anyways, as family tradition has it, we woke up Ethan with the whole family singing Happy Birthday and we ate cake in his bed. Great way to start a birthday with a full-on sugar rush!

He decided that as a family we should go to the new In-N-Out Burger for lunch. That was so fun because as we were ordering, we mentioned to the cashier the reasoning for our visiting that day. It was 12:15 and packed with people. She asked several more questions to him, as he smiled, so proud of his big day. We waited to find a table, found a table that usually would sit 4 people and we crammed all 7 of us in it. Then while waiting, we hear over the loud speaker, the manager saying, "we want to wish one of our special guests, Ethan, a happy 13th birthday". Then they got the entire restaurant to sing him happy birthday. He absolutely loved it. Huge smile that didn't come off for quite some time.

Lucky for us, the dollar movie theater was showing "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". So we went to see that too. (Side note - that was actually a pretty funny movie). We then went home and watched the New Year's festivities on tv. Whew -- it was a fun, crazy, full day!

Happy Birthday my son (I'm really not old enough to have a teenager!)
